Rooftop solar power – Future energy system

Along with the development of the 4.0 industrial revolution (Industry 4.0), solar energy systems have gradually become popular in the past few years, especially in Hanoi city.

Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang – Head of Business Department of Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Corporation. Hanoi (EVN HANOI) said that in recent years, developing renewable energy sources, especially solar energy, is considered to have great potential in Vietnam. EVN HANOI has deployed the installation of rooftop solar power systems at the Corporation’s headquarters, Hotline Repair Center, Nam Tu Liem Electricity Company, 110 – 220 kV transformer stations… Using a solar energy system will contribute to saving electricity, increasing production and business efficiency while protecting the environment and responding to climate change.

Thanks to taking advantage of the roof area at Power Companies in Hanoi, EVN HANOI has implemented installations to reduce costs and power consumption at the headquarters and transformer stations, contributing to reducing labor costs. source capacity for Hanoi’s power grid. At the same time, when installing a rooftop solar energy system, it will cover direct sunlight from the sun into buildings and offices.

Mr. Thang said that the rooftop solar power system is a great invention of the world. For customers in the Capital, when installing a solar power system on the roof, it will first reduce dependence on into the current popular energy system such as the national grid. Thanks to that, there are many options to choose from when the electrical system has short-term problems during days of extreme hot weather. Next, solar power will help reduce energy costs in the long term for businesses. Finally, join hands to contribute to a society that uses clean energy, reducing the burden on power plants when resources such as coal and hydroelectricity are gradually depleted.

With reasonable prices, diverse products and convenient designs, rooftop solar power systems are increasingly developing to meet customer requirements, aiming to develop clean energy and save energy. national quantity.

According to the Automation System page – Hanoi University of Science and Technology, a solar energy system is a system that converts solar energy (light and heat radiation) into the form of energy that needs to be used. The solar energy system consists of solar panels made from semiconductor materials that have the function of converting radiant heat energy into electrical energy.

The output capacity of the power source depends entirely on the intensity of sunlight and the area of the electrical panel. Solar energy is converted into electrical energy through battery panels and is used directly for lighting and serving home appliances. If there is excess solar power, it can be stored in batteries or sold back to Electricity Companies.

Registration form for purchasing and selling rooftop solar power according to regulations

To facilitate the implementation of registration procedures for purchasing and selling rooftop solar power, EVN HANOI provides a registration form based on Circular No. 16/2017/TT-BCT dated September 12, 2017 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. regulations on project development and Power Purchase Contracts applicable to solar power projects and Circular No. 05/2019 dated March 11, 2019 on amending and supplementing a number of articles of Circular No. 16 /2017/TT-BCT dated September 12, 2017.

Subjects of application according to the regulations are organizations and individuals who are customers buying electricity directly from the electricity unit, have a solar power system installed on the roof and want to sell excess electricity to the Electricity Company. ; Organizations and individuals that have installed rooftop solar power systems need to sell excess electricity to the Electricity Company.

When registering demand, the investor needs to provide initial information about the location and expected installed capacity of the rooftop solar power project, and the electricity customer code (if the customer is buying electricity from Vietnam National Electricity Group) for convenient contact and connection survey.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa – My Dinh 2 Ward – Nam Tu Liem District – Hanoi said that after installing the rooftop solar energy system, after about 2 months, many of her family’s spending burdens were reduced. . Before installing the solar power system, her family had to pay more than 1 million VND for electricity. Currently, she only has to pay about 600-700 thousand VND/month for household electricity.

With a grid-connected solar power system, if the electricity generated is equal to the building’s consumption needs, the building will receive electricity entirely from this solar energy. When the capacity from the solar power source is less than demand, the building will receive additional power from the grid. If solar power capacity is greater than consumption capacity, the excess power will be transmitted to the national grid. In case of grid power outage, the grid-connected solar power system will automatically be isolated to ensure grid safety.
